主  題：A discovery of Environmental & Resource Economics (ERE)

內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介：The world is made of different natural spheres (atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere …) which interact amongst themselves. In this framework, humankind interacts both with each of these spheres but also influences the interactions between them. Scientists call this era of Earth, the anthropocene. The economic system developed by humans to satisfy their needs contributes highly to these interactions. The lecture aims at understanding these interactions with the help of environmental and resource economics (ERE).  ERE is a field of economics consisting in the application of economic theory (market mechanisms, …) and methods (cost effectiveness analysis, economic valuation, optimization …) to environmental issues and problems (air pollution, climate change, deforestation and forest degradation, biodiversity losses …) in order to (1) understand humans-environment interdependencies and (2) improve management strategies/environmental policies (which associates efficiency, optimality and sustainability) to reconcile humanity with nature.
